November 20, 1927 – August 14, 2023
Alaine Mosher of Starlight, PA, passed away on August 14, 2023 at Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, PA, after a short illness. She was 95.
Alaine was born in Deposit, NY, on November 20, 1927 to Vergil Sr. and Marian (Sands) Faigle. She was the oldest of eight siblings and was raised on the family farm in Hiawatha, PA. She graduated from Hancock Central School and married Donald Mosher on November 20, 1946. They raised two children, Russ and Pamela in Matamoras, PA. Alaine retired as Head of Food Service from Delaware Valley School District in Milford, PA. After retirement, Don and Alaine, relocated back to a portion of the family farm. In her younger years, she liked to hunt and fish with her husband as well as enjoying many other activities together.
Alaine was a member of the Shehawken United Methodist Church, served on the Board of Trustees, and was an avid member of the United Methodist Women.
Surviving are her children, Russ (Sue) of Starlight, PA; and Pamela (Paul) Rossi of Port Jervis, NY; 4 grandchildren: Heather of Middletown, NY, Donald (Becky) Santiago of Sparrowbush, NY, Tanya (Bill) Turner of Louisville, KY, and Neil Mosher and partner Amanda of Hancock, NY; 8 great grandchildren: Daniel, Tabitha, Elaina, Nathan, Jack, Alex, Bryn, and Emelia; 2 great great grandchildren, Aubri and Aerith; 4 sisters in law: Rita Faigle, Carol Faigle, Lillian (Sam) Connolly, and Gloria Mosher; and several nieces and nephews.
Alaine was predeceased by her husband, Don, in March 2000, as well as all of her siblings: Janet Woodmansee, Vergil, Ronald, Graydon, and Justin Faigle, and 2 infant sisters, Lela and Beverly. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Shawn Mosher, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be 1 hour of visitation from 11AM-12PM followed by a memorial service at 12PM all at the Shehawken United Methodist Church, 3 Scott Center Rd., Starrucca, PA, 18462 on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Burial will be at a later date in Balls Eddy Cemetery, Starlight, PA.
