Alan Siegfried Ramburg, 62, of Cadosia, NY, passed away unexpectedly from complications of a long term illness on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY. He was born on January 4, 1955 in Hancock, NY, the son of James A. and Jean M. (Hunter) Ramburg.Alan attended Hancock Central School then soon after became self-employed in the firewood wood business. He then became employed at Larimer and Norton (formerly Ramburg Wood Products) in Hancock until the late 1990s when he became disabled from seizure disorder. Alan was a kind hearted, gentle, witty and very private man, who was also an exceptional brother.Surviving are his sisters, J. Signe Taylor and Jackie (Robert Kathmann) Galietta, his sons, William Ramburg and Michael Rowe, his aunts Lorraine (Hunter) Wylam, Sally (Hunter) Wahl and Carol (Ramburg) (Carl) Krause. Also surviving are his niece Alison (CJ) Lorenc and their daughter Keller and his nephew Jamison (Samantha) Galietta, as well as several cousins and their families. Mary Ann Peterson was a very caring friend to Alan.Alan was predeceased by his parents, his maternal grandparents Raymond and Harriet (Baxter) Hunter and paternal grandparents Elner S. and Ruby P. (Berg) Ramburg , and several uncles and their wives.At Alans request there will be no services at this time and a private burial will take at the convenience of the family.Donations in Alans memory can be made to the Town of Hancock Ambulance, P.O.
