Allen A. Conkling Sr., 72, of Long Eddy, NY, died peacefully on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at home after an illness. He was born on September 30, 1949 in Newburgh, NY, the son of Alfred W. and Laurinae (Ashley) Conkling. Allen married Grace Conklin and she predeceased him on December 4, 2013. Allen loved everything outdoors including family floats down the river, camping, barbeques, and just hanging around drinking and socializing. Surviving are 6 children: Lori Worden and significant other, Jeff Baker, Stacy Palmer and significant other, Mike Thomas, Laurinae Conkling, Ilene Conkling and significant other, Robert Hendrickson, Allen Jr., and Anthony Croci and significant other, Tanya Pierce, many grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 sisters: Sharon Procak, Laurel Procak, and Martha Conkling; and many nieces and nephews. Allen was predeceased by 2 brothers; Thomas and Benjamin Conkling. A celebration of Allens life will be held in the Summer of 2022. All of his family and friends will be welcome. Arrangements by Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
