Alton R. Wahl, 66, of Hancock, NY, died on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at home after an illness. He was born on March 31, 1954 in Hancock, the son of Donald and Janet (Jones) Wahl. Alton married Wendy Lee on September 29, 1973. He was employed at Becton Dickinson for 28 years followed by 15 years as a machinist at Amphenol in Sidney, NY. Alton enjoyed fishing and hunting and he especially loved spending time with his grandson, Zander. Surviving are 2 children, Tracie (Charlie) Meyer, and Michael (Vicky Young) Wahl, 1 grandson, Zander Wahl, 1 brother, Harry (Karen) Wahl, and 1 sister, Connie (Mike) Yacko. Alton is also survived my several nieces and nephews, and 2 sister in laws, Tammy Lee and Jenny Groover. He was predeceased by his parents, 1 brother, Ray Wahl, and 1 sister, Donna Jean Wahl. Altons family would like to extend a special thanks to Boomer Bojo for all of his care and concern, especially when Alton was a patient at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. Private services for family and close friends will be held at the convenience of Altons family. A public celebration of his life will be held at a later date due to current covid-19 regulations.
