Andrew J. Evanitsky, 80, of Lakewood, passed away Monday, Feb 24th 2014. He was born in Peckville, PA, to the late Joseph and Elma (Decker) Evanitsky. Andy worked many years in construction and was a Preston Township Supervisor for over 40 years. He was a member of American Legion Six Star Post 209, being a major part of forming their honor & color guard, marching in numerous parades.Surviving are his wife Margaret (Schoonmaker), 2 daughters, Cheryl Robinson (John), and Mary Lynn Smith (Walt), 2 grandsons, Mathew (Connie) Evanitsky, and Adam (Wynter) Newman, great grandchildren, Andrew, Grace, Aiden, & Layla Evanitsky, and Andyn & Case Newman. He is also survived by a sister, Matoka Kallay, and a brother, Theron Evanitsky. Andy was predeceased by brothers Dave & Mike and sister Peggy DuMond and his daughter Laurie and grandsons Tommy & Tyler Cobb.Arrangements are at Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, with visitation, Saturday, March 1st from 1-3PM and a service following at 3PM.
