On May 19, 2015, Anna "Arlene" Doyle went to be with the Lord after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Clarence Howard Doyle. She was born in Herrick Center, PA, on December 8, 1928 to Burton and Florence Curtis.Arlene's love in life was her family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Kay Davis, Dawn Joyce, and Darlene Doyle. She had four grandchildren: Edward Joyce and wife Crystal, Lindsay Davis, Emily Joyce, and Christopher Pais, plus two great grandsons, Logan and Maddox. Her life was always fuller when the "kids" were around and she could bake cookies for them. She is also survived by many loving family members including sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and long-time family friends.Arlene worked as a Postmaster in Orson and Lakewood for 45 years before retiring. She loved her job and all the friends she made while working there. She was a member of the Orson United Methodist Church, the Northern Wayne Fire Company Auxilary, NAAPUS, and the Nakomis Rebekah Lodge in Lake Como. Arlene also played an important role in the creation of the Veteran's Memorial Park in Lakewood, PA. Throughout her life, she was dedicated to helping others and the community.During her free time, Arlene loved to bake and was well known for her yummy creations. Every Friday night for decades, she could be found bowling in the Friday Night Couples League at the Fox Bowling Alley. When she could no longer bowl, bingo became her favorite past time along with watching her baseball team, the Atlanta Braves. The last year of her life, Arlene lived at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart, PA where she made many new friends and was treated as family. She spent her final days at the VNA Hospice in Geisinger CMC where the wonderful staff made her final days peaceful and comfortable. Calling hours will be at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel in Hancock, NY from 1:00 -2:00 PM on Saturday, May 23, 2015. This will be followed by a memorial service at the chapel at 2PM and burial at Wheeler Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Mount, PA.
