Anna Vriesema, 84, of Hancock, NY went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Willow Point Nursing Home, Vestal, NY. She was born one of eight children on December 10th 1929 in Wycoff, NJ, the daughter of Martin and Anna (Van DeWeert) Van DerHeide. Anna is survived by her husband of 64 years, Henry Vriesema and her brother Fred Van DerHeide. Anna and Henry lived for many years in Goshen, NY where she was known as Auntie to many children and attended the Goshen Christian Reformed Church. Anna attended the Hancock Baptist Church.Surviving are 6 children, Henry Jr. and wife Gail, Sally and husband Charles Hoffman, Kenneth, Gary and wife Judie, Thomas and wife Cathy, and Chris and wife Debbie. Also surviving are grandchildren Elizabeth (Pete) Schmidt, Henry (Leanne) Vriesema, Rebecca (Anthony) Monaco, Dena (Mike) Clifford, Christie (Kat) Vriesema-Magnuson, Gwynne (Peter) Mansfield, Jay Coley, Jimmy Vriesema, Danny Vriesema, Scott Vriesema and 6 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. There will be a funeral on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 11 AM also at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in the spring in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.The family would like to thank all the caregivers that helped Anna during her time of need.Memorial donations can be made in Anna's memory to the Hancock Fire Dept, Hancock Rescue Squad, or to the Hancock Baptist Church.
