Anne W. Hollins, 89, of Fishs Eddy, NY, passed away in her sleep, on June 9, 2014. She was born on July 31, 1924 in Glen Cove, Long Island, NY, the daughter of Charles and Anna Balog Wolson. Surviving are her son, James Charles Hollins and daughter in law, Jennifer Tait-Hollins, Fishs Eddy, (both formerly of Locust Valley), as well as her son, William Hollins and daughter in law, Jessica Gartner- Hollins, of Greenacres, FL. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Wolson McLaughlin, Colonie, NY. Anne grew up in Locust Valley, on Long Island's beautiful North Shore. She worked during WWII at Grumman Aerospace as a riveter on planes, during which time, she met her husband, William Hollins. They had 3 boys, William, Robert, and James. (Robert passed away at the age of 54 in Lake Worth, FL, from heart disease.) Anne lost her husband to a heart attack in 1974. Following his death, she became a Certified Nurse's Aide and worked at Montclair Nursing Home in Glen Cove for many years, until she retired. Anne then moved to Lake Worth, FL, for 12 years until the age of 89 when she then moved to Fishs Eddy to live with her youngest son, James and his wife, Jennifer, and their 3 dogs and 5 cats. Anne was well known for her quick wit and sense of humor, her love for animals, and her passion for reading. A graveside service will be held in Locust Valley Cemetery, where she will be buried next to her husband.
