Anthony Patrick Resti, 26, of Wellington, Florida, died unexpectedly on December 16. He was born in Binghamton, NY, to Patrick Resti and Sherri Resti. He worked for Clarke, a global environmental services company in Florida. He graduated from Hancock Central High School in Hancock NY and attended Northampton Community College in Bethlehem PA. He also volunteered for the Americorp in Maine. Before moving to Florida, he worked for Leeward Construction, Honesdale PA, in the blacktop division.Anthony was a smart, handsome, fun guy with a giant heart that matched his light-up-a-room smile. His laugh was contagious. He didn't judge anyone and accepted others for who they were. Tough and soft at the same time. He loved his family. Unfortunately, Anthony struggled with the challenges of addiction and lost his battle. Anthony said "A ship is always safe when it's docked in the harbor, but that's not what ships are made for - they're made for the open ocean."Surviving are his parents Sherri (Bennett) Resti, her companion Rich Thomas, Patrick Resti, his wife Laura Resti, his siblings Emma, William, and Lilly Long, and Jeanne-Marie Thomas, his maternal grandparents Lloyd and Shirley Bennett, many cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends, and the love of his life, Richelle Dufton.Ant was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Patrick and Constance Resti, his Uncle Robert Resti, his Aunt Catherine Resti, his cousin Kate Resti, his Great Grandparents Merle and Dorothy Roney, his Aunt, Susan Brooker, and his cousin Lisa DaBrescia.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 21 from 5-8 pm at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Home in Hancock NY. There will be a funeral service on Monday December 22 at 10 am at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Hancock NY.
