Beloved husband of Margot and devoted father of Amy Leigh. Arthur was born in Jackson, PA, to Herbert and Nora (Caffery) Spangenberg. He is survived by several siblings and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. He graduated from Preston High School and joined the US Navy where he served four years before returning home to join his mentors and foster family, Kenneth and Helen Doyle, in operating their dairy farm and purchased the farm when he married Margot. For many years he was active in the Wayne County Holstein Club and the Jersey Cattle Club and was a member of the Dairy Shrine. In 1999, Arthur and Margot were honored by the Pennsylvania Jersey Cattle Club with their Distinguished Service Award. Art loved dairy farming and mentoring others who also had a passion for farming. Arts kindness and respect for others was well known in the community. When he retired from dairy farming, he raised sheep, Boer goats, and miniature horses with his wife and daughter. He was a member of the American Legion 6 Star Post 209 in Lake Como where he enjoyed mornings of coffee and cards with his legion brothers. He loved to golf and travel and often combined the two in many trips across the United States. A graveside memorial will be held at the familys convenience.
