Barbara A. Rotzler, 77, of Hancock, NY, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY, after a brief illness. She was born on June 22, 1945 in Hancock, the daughter of Homer and Mildred (Mallery) Begeal. Barb married Joe Rotzler on November 5, 1966 at St. Pauls Church in Hancock, NY. She was a secretary to the guidance counselor at Hancock Central School for 32 years. She enjoyed all of her "office kids", who held a special place in her heart, and kept track of the students throughout the years, even after retirement. Barb was a member of St. Pauls Church for many years and she loved to sing. She also enjoyed flower gardening and crafting. Surviving are her husband, Joe; 4 children: Peggy Wainman, Joe (Natalie) Rotzler, Deborah Orlando, and Michael Rotzler; 6 grandchildren: Veronica, Breanna, Todd, Katelyn, Kellen, and Emma; and 2 great grandchildren, Audrey and Ryan. Barb is also survived by all of her siblings: David (Betty) Begeal, Carol (Bill) Gurwell, Ruth (Bruce) Wilhelm, Ralph (Carol) Begeal, and Linda (Jack) Raitt; many nieces and nephews, and her brother in law, Jim (Gina) Rotzler. She was predeceased by her son in law, Todd Wainman. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 11AM-1PM at Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A funeral mass will follow at 1:30PM at St. Pauls Church, Hancock. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Hancock Education Foundation, P.O.
