Barbara L. Rutledge, 69, of Lakewood, PA, died suddenly on Monday, September 7, 2020 at her house on Lake Como. She was born on November 25, 1950 in Hancock, NY, the daughter of Widrow and Maja (Nyberg) Hanstine. Barb was a hard worker and respected member of her small community. She worked in several area bars/restaurants over the years and later in her life, she and her husband, Leroy owned and operated the Lakewood Lodge. She was a member of the Northern Wayne Fire Department and active in the auxiliary and with the fire police. Barb truly lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed socializing, corn hole, golfing, bowling, and loved scratch offs and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her family, namely her grandson, Kenneth. Surviving are her husband, Leroy, 2 sons, Michael and wife Kelly Pratcshler, and Keith Kapschull, 1 grandson, the light of her life, Kenneth Pratcshler, 1 step son, Michael Rutledge, 3 brothers, Peter and wife Janet Hanstine, Paul and wife Dawn Hanstine, and Kenny and wife Mary Hanstine, 1 nephew, Joe Hanstine, and 4 nieces, Jessica, Ashley, Rachel, and Sarah Jessica Hanstine. Barb is also survived by her mother in law, Jeanette Rutledge, 2 sister in laws, Linda Wiebel and Karen Sampson, her special kitty Blueberry, and many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother in law, Roger Rutledge, and her dog, Lily. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 12 noon at the Northern Wayne Fire Hall. A celebration of Barbs life with food and refreshments will immediately follow until 4PM, also at the fire hall. Face coverings and social distancing must be observed.
