Barry M. Wallace, 60, of Sidney, NY, formerly of Hancock, NY, died on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by his family. He fought hard to the very end. Barry was born on November 15, 1961 in Hancock, NY, the son of Donald Sr. and Lillian (Ballard) Wallace. Barry was an avid Giants Fan and loved watching football. He also enjoyed NASCAR, when Jeff Gordon was racing, and watched the Atlanta Braves. He was a long time member of the Hancock Fire Department and was active with the fire police as well as a crossing guard for Hancock Central School. He loved his family and the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. Surviving are 5 children: Barry Jr. (Amanda Maginley) Wallace, Debra (Brian) Wallace, Kimberly (Jared) Anderson, Lucinda (Oscar) Wallace, and Becky (Alan) Reigles; 14 grandchildren, Chase, Owen, Andrea, William, Emily, Austin, Lily, Lana, Kody, Ava, Hailey, Kameron, Landen, and Adalynn; and his caretaker and best friend of many years, Robin Wallace. He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Lillian and James Middleton; 16 siblings: Donald Jr. (Debbie) Wallace, Florence Gorton, Delcie Hallstead, Stanley (Eva) Wallace, Garry, his twin, (Eva) Wallace, Jeanette (James) McCrillis, Carey Wallace, Robert Zapolski, Lisa Bibalo, Nathan (Danielle) Shay, Christina Wallace, Jimmy (Stacy) Middleton, Timmy Middleton, Tommy (Heather) Middleton, Danny (Billiejo) Middleton, and Robin (Mark) Mead; and many many nieces and nephews. Barry was predeceased by his father, Donald; paternal grandparents, Cecil and Florence Wallace; and his sister, Terry Wallace. There will be 1 hr of visitation from 12PM-1PM with a memorial service following at 1PM on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock, NY.
