Betty Lou Schultz Elston, 77, of Hancock, NY, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 after a brief illness. She was born on May 19, 1946 in Otisville, NY, the daughter of James and Katherine Johnson.

Betty Lou loved football and NASCAR. She enjoyed gambling and, in her last years, she loved sitting on her front porch in Hancock watching cars and people go by.

Surviving are her children, Floyd (Cindy Arnott) Elston and Jorden (Christina) Elston; mother, Katherine; several grandchildren: Katie (Jeremy), Mandy (Nick), and Andrew Kylee; many great grandchildren; and many cousins. Betty Lou was predeceased by 2 husbands, Wesley Schultz and Floyd R. Elston Jr., daughter, Cathleen Justian; father, James Johnson; stepfather, Harold Leisur; and brother, James Johnson.

Betty Lou's wishes were for cremation and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 1PM at the Otisville Veterans Memorial Park, 23-79 Main St., Otisville, NY 10963.
