Betty (Porosky) Skoski, of Lake Como, PA, entered eternal peace on Monday, September 21, 2026 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. Born in Hancock, NY, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Clara (Nowogorski) Porosky and the widow of Eugene Skoski.

Betty was a graduate of Hancock Central School, Bloomsburg University, B.S., M.S., and New York University, majoring in business education and school administration. She started her teaching career with Marlboro Central Schools, NY, and returned to Hancock Central School for a total of 32 years. She enjoyed beef farming on her farm in Lake Como. Betty was a member of the St. Katharine Drexel Parish and its Altar and Rosary Society.

Surviving are her brother, Theodore and Kate Porosky, Preston Park, PA; sister, Mary Ann Porosky, Rockaway, NJ; nephew, Scott and Brandy Porosky, Lake Como, PA; nieces, Stacie Porosky, Chicago, IL; and Susanne Porosky, Starrucca, PA; and 4 great nephews: Devin and Derick Pabon, Starrucca, PA, and Nicholas and Clark Porosky, Lake Como, PA. Betty is also survived by her closest cousins: Bernard, Amanda, Brien, Bernard (BJ), and Katelyn Zembrzycki, Herrick Center, PA, and numerous cousins and close friends. 

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 11AM at St. Juliana’s Catholic Church, Pleasant Mount, PA. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Pleasant Mount, PA. In accordance with Betty’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.
