Beverly Faling Peters, age 85, of Hancock, New York, passed away peacefully at her home in Peas Eddy on October 10, 2025.

A memorial service will be held at Emory United Methodist Church, 89 East Main Street, Hancock, NY. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. and a luncheon immediately afterward on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

Born in Hancock to Edwin and Grace Faling, Beverly was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated from Hancock Central School in 1957. She earned an associate degree in nursing from Broome Community College and worked as a surgical and charge nurse at Read Memorial Hospital, where she was admired for her compassion and dedication.

Together with her husband, Van, she helped build and operate Peters Logging, Peters Family Maple Products, farmed their land, and managed rental homes in Peas Eddy. Beverly was active in her community, serving on the Hancock Planning Board, participating in the local garden club, and attending Emory United Methodist Church. She was honored as the Delaware County Republican of the Year in 2005.

Beverly was predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Grace Faling, and her sister Barbara McGraw.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Van C. Peters II; children Laura (Pat) Wilson, Karen (Michael) Ishitani, Priscilla (Brian) Duda, and Van (Sherry) Peters; grandchildren Caroline (Jeff) Solt, Patrick (Fatima) Wilson, Catherine Ishitani, Henry (Alex) Ishitani, Tyler (Erika) Duda, Nathan, and Connor Duda; and great-grandchildren Ericka, Parker, Deleyza, Emmerson, Reagan, and Patrick.
