Blanche J. Marsh, 86, of Hancock, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Cindy. She was born on December 5, 1926 in Hancock, the daughter of Earl and Cora (Weaver) Hazen. Blanche married Paul F. Marsh on October 4, 1946 and he predeceased her on April 2, 2003. Blanche was a member of the Emory United Methodist Church in Hancock for over 60 years and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked for many years as a clerk in the Sears Catalog Store in Hancock. People will remember seeing Blanche on her daily walks through the village. She was an inspiration to us all. Surviving are 4 daughters, Peggy (Robert) Towner, Alice (Robert) Hartz, Paula (Donald) Wrighter, and Cynthia (Randall) Whiting, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 son-in-law, Grayling Martin. She is also survived by her sister, Bessie Blend and her very close friends, Virginia and Sandra. Blanche was predeceased by 9 siblings.Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 4-7PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. There will also be 1 hour for visitation on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 12-1PM with a funeral service following at 1PM all at the Emory United Methodist Church, Hancock. Rev. Dr. Roxy Moses will officiate and burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.
