Brenda S. Biedekapp Thurston, 55, died Friday, May 6th, at Wilson Hospital, Johnson City, NY. She was born on February 18, 1961, in Hancock, the daughter of Wilbur I. and Sandra (Cable) Biedekapp. Brenda graduated from Hancock Central School and also from Cazenovia College where she received an Associates Degree in Equine Science. She worked for Dr. James Watson in Orson, PA and for Oleout Valley Veterinary Clinic, Milfer Farms, Unadilla and was also an Artificial Inseminator for Eastern Dairy Assn.Brenda married Russell Thurston on May 23, 2000 in Cooperstown, NY and they made their home in Trout Creek. Brenda prided herself on being a farmer and loved her many animals. She served the town as the Dog Control Officer. She loved to garden, knit and crochet, shear sheep and spin yarn from the wool of her sheep. She had a heart of gold and would was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was a member of the Trout Creek Ambulance and Fire Co. and the Walton Grange as well as the American Legion Aux. Post #1554. Surviving are her husband, Russell, her mother and "Pops", Sandra and Paul Bartholomew, her other mother, Cindy Biedekapp, and children Sheryl Thurston Ogelsby, Melissa (Shawn) Sheriden and Michael (Katie)Thurston. Surviving grandchildren are Abigail, Julia, Grace, Adeline and Roman.Brenda is also survived by sisters, Amanda (Kevin) Schmidli, Jessica (Rick) Vassallo, and Debra Bartholomew, brothers, Clark, Mark (Donna), Justin, and Paul Jr. Also surviving are her father-in-law, Kenneth Thurston, Sr., sisters-in-law, Lynne (Dan) Shanks, Mary Hargonnes & Jim, brothers in law, Steve (Donna) and Kenneth, Jr. Elinor Budine, a very special aunt, also survives. Brenda leaves many, many nieces, nephews and cousins.Brenda was predeceased by her father, Wilbur I. Biedekapp and her mother-in-law, Ferral Thurston. Calling Hours will be held at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock, on Monday, May 9th from 5-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 10th at 11:00 am. with Rev.
