Carolyn Anne Darling, of Hancock NY, passed away on November 13th, 2019 at Catskill Regional Medical Center at the age of 81. She was born on February 26th, 1938 in Elmira NY to WIlliam Blanford and Edna Blanford Buchanan of Deposit NY where she was raised and attended school. She later lived and raised her children on Readburn Road in Walton NY and worked as a Nursing Assistant, first at the Hancock Hospital and then, for the remainder of her career, at Roscoe Nursing Home. Her family was everything to her, and she was happiest surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Crocheting and collecting lighthouses were some other things she enjoyed, making homemade mittens and scarves for all of her children every year throughout their childhood. She was loving and kind, but tough and independent as well. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Carolyn is survived by six children: Denise Darling, Laurie (Bruce) Bennett, Edwin (Julie) Darling, Shawn Darling, Linda (Dan) Whitmore and Stephanie Darling (Frank Leonard); a daughter in law, Anita Darling; 10 grandchildren: Cari (Alex) Covell, Shawn Michael (Michelle) Darling, Chelsea Darling, Evan (Kourtnie) Whitmore, Vanessa Darling (Kevin Ford), Victoria Darling, Alyssa Bennett, Katelynn Bennett, Alexis Bennett and Nicholas Leonard; 5 great grandchildren: Shayden and Bryson Covell, and Amelia, Paizlee and Maycie Darling, as well as her unborn great grandchild, Baby Girl Whitmore; a sister, Christine Araneo; sister in law, Jane Blanford; her long time companion, Harry Teuschler; nieces: Tammy (Jim) Hitt, Terry (Russ) Harrington, Kim Stento, Jennifer (Jason) Johnson and Danielle (Kenneth) Kiger; a nephew, David (Anna) Weinzierl and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; 2 brothers, William and Gary Blanford; 2 nephews, Nicholas Buchanan and Michael Stento; a brother in law, John Araneo; and a daughter in law, Catherine Tucker.
