Carolyn Marie Davis, 77, of Starlight, PA, went to be with the love of her life on Friday, February 10, 2017. She passed away at her home after a very courageous battle with cancer. Her children were at her bedside as she peacefully left this earth. Carolyn was born on June 4, 1939, to Ottorino "John" and Lucille Bracchy. She was a graduate of St. Mary Star of the Sea School and Far Rockaway School. She married Kendall W. Davis Sr. on October 23, 1966 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Far Rockaway, NY, and he predeceased her after 33 years of marriage on December 14, 1999. She worked as a certified nursing assistant until she chose to become a very devoted wife, mother, gram, and mammie. She always put the needs of her family before her own. Surviving are 6 children, Kendall W. Davis Jr., Linda Hopkins (Steve), Brian Davis (Sandra), Carolyn Restaino (Albert), Gina Hood (Toby), and David Lee, 13 grandchildren, Brianna, Elayne, Kayla, Kaysi, Kaden, Alex, Keegan, Kenna, Michael, Harrison, Brayden, Gunner, and Averie, 5 great grandchildren, Giana, Giuliana, Journey, Zadyn, and Elyana. She is also survived by 4 sisters, Diane Schield (Bob), Dolly Bracchy (Paul), Linda Bracchy (Willie), and Maria O'Connor (Felix), an aunt, many cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a very special brother and sister in law, Craig and Lisa Davis. Carolyn was predeceased by her loving parents, a special nephew, a brother in law, a daughter in law, a great granddaughter, and a great grandson. Beautifully written by her oldest son- Our family lost our north star, our guiding light, the person who taught us how to love whole heartedly. She was an amazing woman. She had seen and been through a lot but always put us first. Even at the end, her thoughts were how her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids were going to be and that she was sorry for putting us through this. Well Mom, we will be great because we couldn't have had a better example of how to be a moral and just person. Thank You Mom!!! We will always remember the lessons and the love and pass it on!!!Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11AM, also at the funeral chapel with Father Daniel Quinn officiating. Interment will be held in the spring in Balls Eddy Cemetery, Winterdale, PA.
