Carolyn McUumber, 89, passed away on November 11, 2021 following long term care at Forest City Nursing Home.
Born on February 23, 1932 to parents Leland and Ena (Sprague) Mallery, Carolyn was raised in Hancock N.Y. and attended Hancock Central High School. She eventually relocated to Carbondale, PA. She enjoyed keeping her home and will be remembered for her delicious spaghetti sauce.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Paul McUmber; her 10 children and their families: Linda Watkins, Ruthann Pepson, Raymond Noble (Marion), Deborah VanLoan (Francis), Sherry Wormuth (Maurice), Harold Noble (Linda), Daniel Noble, Victor Noble (Rae Ann), Vicky Giangrant, John Giangrant. Also survived by Carolyn are McUmber siblings and their families: Pam, Paul and Felicia. Carolyn has a surviving brother; Carlton Palmatier (Dawn) and sister-in-law Barbara Palmatier, sister -in -law Dawn (Leon Thomas) and brother- in -law Claude (Vicki) that she leaves behind. Having been blessed with such a large family, a legacy of numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends also mourn her loss. As one granddaughter stated "she gave us all each other".
Preceding in her death are her parents; her sister, Joyce; her brother, Clayton; her grandson, Dylan Noble and her son -in-law, David R. Watkins Sr.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
