Catherine R. Clouston-Babiak, 60, of Hancock, NY, died on Thursday, September 30, 2021 in Pleasant Mount, PA, after a motor vehicle accident. She was born on February 2, 1961 in Queens, NY, the daughter of William Sr. and Judith (Rowand) Clouston. She lived in Miami, FL for most of her childhood. After moving with her family to Hancock, NY, she attended Hancock Central School, where she played Field Hockey, performed in the Orchestra and belonged to the Key Club.
She married John Babiak Jr. on November 27, 1999 at Emory United Methodist Church, Hancock, NY. Catherine was a member of the Emory United Methodist Church in Hancock and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Hancock Fire Department Womens Auxiliary and a current student at Marywood University. She was very patriotic and loved her country and was proud of the military history that was in her family. Catherine had many hobbies including playing the violin and guitar and reading and sewing. She loved and was active in showing her redbone coonhound Molly. Catherine was a proud member of the S&S Splinters softball team. Above all, her greatest joy and love was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, John; 5 children: Abigail (Daniel) Robbins, Robbie (Ammie) Kellam, Adam Kellam, Abram (Charissa) Kellam, and Anna Kellam; 11 grandchildren: Owen, Benjamin, Grace, Emily, Stanley, Leon, Mason, Lilya, Elias, Elliot, and Elise; her mother, who she was close to and cared for, Judy Clouston; 9 siblings: William "Bill" Clouston Jr., Elizabeth "Beth" (Jake) Scott, Timothy "Tim" Clouston, Andrew (Renee) Clouston, David Clouston, Carolyn Young, Charles Clouston, Daniel Clouston, and Dennis (Gisela) Clouston; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; best friend, Nancy Dunlap; and 2 dogs, Molly and Destiny.
Catherine was predeceased by her father, William Sr.; 2 brothers: Michael and Christopher Clouston; brother-in-law, James Young; and maternal grandparents William and Helen Rowand, with whom she was very close and spent a lot of time during summers and holidays.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 11AM-1PM with a funeral service following at 1PM, all at the Emory United Methodist Church, Hancock. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.
