Catherine Mary Resti passed away on February 14, 2014 in Honesdale, Pa. after bravely battling cancer. She was born on June 21, 1966, in Queens, New York and moved to Equinunk, P.A. when she was ten, where she lived with her life-long love and partner, James Dibble, until her death.Kate graduated from Hancock High School and worked at St.Clair Graphics in Honesdale with her childhood friend, Beth St.Clair, for almost thirty years. She was extraordinarily gifted and talented, especially as a golfer, playing as often as weather permitted and competing regularly in tournaments. She took particular delight in competing in and sometimes winning men's tournaments. Kate loved to travel and could often be seen in the summer floating down the Delaware in a tube with her friends and relatives or lying in the sun at Lake Como at her brother, Patrick's house. If anything could be said about her, it is that she lived her life in the way that she wanted.She was pre-deceased by her parents, Pat and Connie Resti of Equinunk, her dear brother Robert and her beloved niece and namesake, Kate. She leaves behind a large and loving family who cherished her: Jamie Dibble, the love of her life, four brothers, James (Cecilia), Gary (Margaret), Lawrence (Jane) and Patrick (Laura), who was her closest friend, and Peggy, her sister-in-law. She also leaves sixteen nieces and nephews, nine grand-nieces and grandnephews and innumerable loving, dear friends. She touched the lives of many and continues to be an inspiration to her family. She was loving, strong, kind, tough and unique and we will all miss her enormously. Her absence from our lives leaves a void that can never be filled. There will be a celebration of Kate's life on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 3PM-6PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, 29 E Main St., Hancock, NY 13783.
