Charles (Charlie) D. Curtis, 89 of Pleasant Mount, PA died peacefully on April 20, 2024 at Forest City Nursing and Rehab Center.
Charlie was born on December 18, 1934 to the late Henry and Grace Curtis. He grew up on the family farm in Curtis Valley and proudly continued farming until his semi-retirement in 2021. Charlie was also an Army veteran, having served in post WWII Germany as a supply and requisition clerk. After returning home, Charlie settled on his farm in the Pleasant Mount area.
Charlie was also very proud of his Baptist heritage and spent hours reading his Bible and listening to Christian radio broadcasts. His other great love, hunting, took him on adventures to numerous states and Canada.
He is survived by his son, Charles Curtis and wife Marian; 3 grandchildren by marriage; sister-in-laws, Sue Curtis and Nancy Curtis; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of great-nieces and great- nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kendall Curtis; Brothers, Ed Curtis, George Curtis, Niles Curtis, Henry (Hank) Curtis and sister, Patricia Lawrence.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the nurses and staff at Forest City Nursing and Rehab Center for the kindness and help Charlie received while in their care.
A private family graveside service will be held at Wheeler Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Mount at the convenience of the family.
