IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles A.
White
April 8, 1946 – March 13, 2025
Charles Andrew (Chuck) White, Endicott, NY, died on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at C.S. Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY. He was 78 years old.
He was born in Hancock, NY, on April 8, 1946, to Francis and Alice (Dietz) White. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, and graduated from Hancock High School in 1964, where he excelled in music.
He received an Associate in Applied Science degree in Business from SUNY Binghamton in 1966; an Associate in Applied Science in Technology/Management from SUNY Binghamton in 1977; and a Bachelor of Science from SUNY Albany in 1999.
Chuck began working at IBM in Endicott, NY, but spent the majority of his career (36 years) in the Quality Control Department at Bard-Parker Division, Becton Dickinson, in his hometown of Hancock, NY. His certifications from the American Society for Quality Control included Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Auditor, and Lead Assessor.
In his free time, Chuck enjoyed being the manager and drummer for the popular variety band SUEDE, which played many local venues in the seventies. He was also a lifelong Yankees fan.
In 2007, Chuck suffered a major brain aneurysm that left him partially paralyzed. He spent the remaining years of his life at UHS Senior Living at Ideal, Endicott, NY. In spite of his health setbacks, he maintained an amazing positive attitude and enjoyed wheeling himself around Ideal in his wheelchair, visiting with staff and acquaintances. He had a heart of gold and will be sorely missed by those who loved him.
Chuck was predeceased by his mother and father; one brother, Frank; a sister, Mary Ann Thomas; a nephew, Andrew White, and a niece, Tina Berry. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Per Chuck's wishes, there was no visitation. Interment was in St. Paul's Cemetery, Hancock, NY.
Arrangements were handled by Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock, NY.
