Christina Harageones, a native of Starlight Pennsylvania, passed away July 4th, 2018, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, in Honesdale PA, at 90 years of age.She attended Hancock Central School and graduated in 1947. She worked as a waitress at the Star Restaurant in Hancock until she moved to Tampa Florida where she was a switchboard operator during WWII. She then worked with Army Navy Air Force publications until she moved to Washington DC and worked within the graphics department for The Washington Star until the Star declared bankruptcy in 1981. Christina then moved back to Starlight PA upon the demise of the Washington Star, and back to the house she grew up in. She then worked as a hostess at the Starlight Inn until she retired.Christina was always artistic, and enjoyed painting, stained glass work, and pottery, but her real artistry showed in her horticultural and landscaping techniques that she presented around her house. Christina had three brothers: George, Angelo (aka Jim) and Alexander, all of who predeceased her. She never married and had no children. She is survived by 19 nieces and nephews and 73 great nieces and nephews.A service for Christina will be held at the Kingsbury Hill Cemetery on October 6th, 2018 at 2PM. Pastor David Norton of the Buckingham Baptist Church in Starlight will be conducting the service, and a reception for all to be held at the Baptist Church following the service. In case of inclement weather the service will be conducted at the Church. A reception is going to be held at the Buckingham Baptist Church afterwards put on by her friends and neighbors.Arrangements by Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
