Constance Walsh Schild, 91, of Apex, Hancock, NY, died on Friday, Novenber 13, 2015 at home. She was born on November 26th, 1923 in Brockton, MA, the daughter of John H. and Mary (Riley) Walsh. Constance married Fred Schild in August of 1945. Constance was a U.S. Veteran, serving in the Marine Corps from 1942-1945. She enlisted under the "Free a man to Fight" program and was assigned to Motor Transport, where she was eventually licensed to drive tractor trailers. For many years Constance was employed by Hancock Central School, working first as the secretary to the school principal and then as the district treasurer.Surviving are her son William III and wife Ronayne, grandchildren Catherine, William IV (Marisa), and Andrew (Nicole) Schild and 4 great grandchildren, Adeline, William V, Josephine, and Dean Schild. Constance is also survived by her sister, Jean Thomas, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Fred, her son Eric, and her brother, John.There will be an hour for visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 on Saturday, December 5th, followed by a Mass at 11:00, all to be held at St. Paul's Church, Hancock.
