Cynthia Fae Teeple Rowe, 61, of Equinunk, died on Wednesday afternoon, April 11, 2018, at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart, PA, after a courageous battle against cancer. She was born on March 29, 1957, the daughter of Grant and Barbara (Quick) Teeple. She grew up on the family farm and always enjoyed the company of family, friends, and her pets. Her special joy was her palomino mare and the filly foal born July 4, 1976 on the Bicentennial. Cindy attended Hancock Central School all her school years, K-12, and graduated with the class of 1975. She also attended Mansfield Teachers College and taught grades 4-6 at Damascus Christian Academy for several years. She took the lead on many a trail ride for Len and Ingrid Ott at Singletree Ranch, worked at Honesdale Agway, and at the time of her passing had been employed at the Honesdale Office of Aqua Pennsylvania (formerly the Honesdale Consolidated Water Co), for 20 years, beginning by working for George Williams, Jr. and the crew at Honesdale Water Co. Cindy is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Mitchell) Houghtaling, Castle Hayne, NC, her son Justin Rowe, Equinunk, PA, her brother, Dale (Ella) Teeple, Equinunk, PA, four granddaughters, Brianna, Caitlyn, Ashley, and Emily Houghtaling, nieces, Theresa and Elizabeth Teeple, and nephew, William Teeple, aunt, Kathryn Kellam, great aunt, Patricia Baum, many cousins, and a host of friends. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018, from 5-7PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, 29 E Main St., Hancock, NY. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 1PM, also at the funeral chapel. Interment at Union Cemetery, Equinunk, PA, at a later date.
