Daniel A. Keesler, 40, of Hancock, N.Y. passed away unexpectedly on October 22nd, 2022. He was born on June 18th, 1982, to Joel & the late Mary Keesler of Hancock, N.Y.
Dan is survived by his father, Joel Keesler, Hancock, N.Y., brother, Greg Keesler, Walton, N.Y. and sister & spouse, Missy & Ward Dunlap, Hancock, N.Y. He is also survived by his nephew Nick Dunlap, Hancock, N.Y., Hope Dunlap, Hancock, N.Y. and Sierra Keesler & Finance, Dylan Hornbeck, Trout Creek, N.Y. His great nephew Josh Dunlap, Hancock, N.Y., great niece Paeton Dunlap, Hancock, N.Y. and great niece Kinsley Hornbeck, Sidney, N.Y. He also had a very loving extended family including Aunts, Uncles and Cousins he will leave behind. One person in particular, David Mondore of Sidney, N.Y. who was not only a cousin, but a good friend.
He also had several close friends, Todd Barnes, Sidney, N.Y., Andy Bullis & Tia Robinson, Hancock, N.Y., Bill & Beth Gleim, Equinunk, P.A., Gregg & Karissa McCann, Sidney, N.Y., Misty Fields, Sidney Center, N.Y., Casey Castle, Sidney, N.Y., Danielle Ganoung, McDonough, N.Y., Jake Stanton & Becky Conway, Woodstock, C.T., Tim & Erin Shupperd, Sidney, N.Y., Brandon Fisher, Sidney, N.Y., Don Hartwell, Sidney, N.Y. and so many more. Dan was that type of person that if you werent a friend when you met him, you were one when you were done talking to him.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Keesler on November 19th, 2015.
He was employed by Sonny & Sons Bluestone, Downsville, N.Y. where was treated like one of the family. A member of the Sidney Moose Lodge, an avid hunter, and golfer. His true passion was bowling, and he belonged to many leagues where he liked to show you how it was done. He was an alright bowler, I guess, but all the high games he threw over the years including the perfect game at one of his homes away from homes "Fox Bowling Center" last year would speak to that.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 29th at 6 pm at the Sidney Moose Lodge in Sidney, N.Y. and a graveside service will be held at the East Branch Cemetery in East Branch, N.Y. on Sunday, October 30th at 1 pm followed by a luncheon at the East Branch Fire Hall sponsored by Sonny & Sons Bluestone.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the "Dan Keesler Bowling"/care of Fox Bowling Center 24723 State Highway 97, Hancock, N.Y. 13783 in memory of Dan Keesler to help support the high school bowling teams and youth bowling.
