Daughn E. Linkroum, 98, of Hancock, NY, died on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the home of her daughter, Shiela, after a brief illness. She was born in Hancock, NY, on May 4, 1922, the daughter of Edwin and Alene (St. Mart) Burtch.
Daughn was a member of the Hancock Baptist Church. Throughout her life she worked at Read Memorial Hospital, May and Johns, Scintilla, Mallery Lumber, Becton Dickinson, and Hancock Central School. She loved putting her puzzles together and showing them off on Facebook. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and her family loved her dearly.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Nancy and husband Raymond Abbott, and Shiela and husband Tyler Baudendistel, 8 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Alphonse and wife Sheila Holbert and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her nephew, Teri Burtch who took her for rides and let her choose the destinations. She enjoyed those rides very much.
Daughn was predeceased by her daughter, Gayle, her mother and father, her Dad, Clyde Holbert Sr., and 2 brothers and sisters in law, Clyde Jr. and wife Mildred Holbert, and Russell and wife Elsie Burtch.
A funeral service will be held for immediate family only, due to COVID-19. Burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.
