David H. McCloughan Sr., 81, of Starrucca, PA, died on Monday, September 24, 2018 at home, after an illness. He was born on February 14, 1937 in Norwalk, CT, the son of Merlin J. and Gladys (Pearsall) McCloughan. Dave was an Air Force Veteran and then attended and graduated from Farleigh Dickinson University. He spent many years in law enforcement and retired at 40. Following retirement, Dave was a proud farmer and very active in 4H, mostly with beef cows and horses. He also worked as a security guard at the Wayne Co Fair, watching over the animal barns and youth that stayed with their animals through the evenings. Dave also was a milk tester at local dairy farms and also hauled horses and cattle to Cornell for local veterinarians. Surviving are 2 children, David and wife Monika McCloughan of Starrucca, Pa., and Kelly McCloughan of Windsor, Maine, 7 grandchildren, David F. and wife Keri McCloughan of Starrucca, Pa, Will Cordts III of Starrucca, Pa, Matthew Cordts of Aspen, Co. Abigail Cordts of Windsor, Maine, John and wife Megan Riggers of Springfield, Ohio, Jessica Timme of Peckville, Pa., and Shawna Timme of Starrucca, Pa., and 2 great grandchildren, Lorelei Mccloughan of Starrucca, Pa. and Eleanor Riggers of Springfield, Ohio. Daves wishes were to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Daves memory to the Northern Wayne Fire Co., 1633 Crosstown Hwy, Lakewood, PA 18439.
