David Lee Whitmore, Starrucca, PA, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes, at home, on Friday, April 9th, 2021. David was born on January 18th, 1954 to Floyd and Eliza (Hallstead) Whitmore. He married Tamara Ellis on June 26, 1982. David worked at Gustin Stone Supply until his retirement in 2020. He brought laughter and joy into everyones lives and will be greatly missed by many. Surviving are his wife, Tamara, 5 children, Michelle (Jeff) Cutting, Bainbridge, NY, Amy (Duane) Wormuth, Hancock, NY, Monica (Steven) Barrows, Starlight, PA, Mike Mead, Hancock, NY, and Shannon Whitmore, Endicott, NY, adopted son, Chad Ellis, 14 grandchildren, Nando, Savannah, Caitlin, Angelina, Ethan, Miranda, Victoria, Kyle, Brooklyn, Jeffrey, Alexis, Asaac, Isabella, and Armondo, and 5 great grandchildren. David is also survived by 5 brothers, Edward (Rosie) Whitmore, Howard Whitmore, Richard Whitmore, Jack (Michelle) Whitmore, Donald (Charlene) Whitmore, 3 sisters, Jenny Dodge, Marie Rowe, and Vickie (Allen) Bullis, many special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, father in law, Norman Ellis, mother in law, Carolyn Terrell, brothers and sisters in law, Robert (Judy) Ellis, Leslie (Mary) Ellis, Mark (Debbie), Scott (Janet), Melissa (John) Eakle, and Norman Ellis. David was predeceased by 2 brothers, Raymond and John Whitmore, 5 sisters, Helen Hillman, Nellie Mead, Velma Baldwin, Ruth Rowe, and Lois Drake, his father in law, Francis Terrell, and his mother in law, Jean Ellis. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A celebration of Davids life will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 1PM-4PM at the American Legion Hall, Hancock, NY. All CDC and State guidelines will be followed, including the mandatory use of facial coverings and social distancing. If necessary, please be prepared to wait outside before entering the funeral home due to capacity restrictions. Also, please be prepared to pay your respects in a timely manner.
