David E. Wormuth, 78, of Hancock, NY, died on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, after an illness. He was born on January 25, 1940 in Hancock, NY, the son of Donald and Mary (Burcavage) Wormuth. In his early years, David was a logger but spent most of his life working with bluestone and in the stone quarry. He married Ruth Bullis on July 14, 1962 in Hancock and she predeceased him on April 27, 2002. David married Joy Livingston on February 11, 2006. He was a member of the Deposit Community Church and also a member of the NRA. He loved fishing, hunting, and especially his children and grandchildren. He truly was devoted to God and his family. Surviving are 4 children, Edward Wormuth, Peggy Kuhn, Anna Wormuth and fiance Willie Poteat, and Brenda Wormuth and partner Sherman Foote, 8 grandchildren, Brittany, Alysha, Aliyah, Ayla, Nathan, CJ, Austin, and Joshua, 14 great grandchildren, 1 stepson, Scott and wife Sandra Livingston, and 2 additional step children along with step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Also surviving are 8 siblings, Alice Dolph, Francis Wormuth, Marie Torch, Shirley Quick, Kenneth Wormuth, Patricia Froehlich, Carolyn Schoonmaker, and Richard Wormuth, and many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by a granddaughter, Amanda Szymanosky, 3 brothers, Donald, Ivan, and Leonard Wormuth, and 1 sister, Linda Wormuth. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 5th, 2019, from 12PM-1PM with a memorial service following at 1PM all at the Deposit Community Church, 123 Hale Eddy Rd, Hancock, NY, 13783.
