Deborah Jean Morgan, 68, of Hancock, NY, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 after a long illness. She was born on January 2, 1955 in Middletown, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Elsie (Steenrod) Morgan.

Debbie graduated from Downsville Central School in 1973. She worked at several companies throughout her years including Wal-Mart, Family Dollar, and Becton Dickinson. Debbie enjoyed reading, cross stitch, Elvis, country music, and traveling. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her mother, Elsie Morgan, Lake Placid, FL; 2 children, Michael and wife Teri Oberg, Norwich, NY, and Jaime Barksdale, Lehigh Acres, FL; 7 grandchildren: Sean, Christian, Shailee, Desiree, Marissa, Christopher, and Renee; 2 sisters, Joanne Sawdy and husband Fred, Lake Placid, FL, and Denise Backus and husband Tim, Laurens, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Debbie was predeceased by her father, Joseph Morgan.

Debbie's wishes were for cremation and there will be a Celebration of Life at Paige Cemetery, Downsville, NY, followed by a gathering for family and friends at the Downsville Fire Station, Downsville, NY, on Saturday, October 21, 2023 starting at 11AM.
