Diane E. Caruso, 72, of Hancock, NY, died on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at home, after a short illness. She was born on April 17, 1943, in Deposit, NY, the daughter of Karl and Athelia (Allen) Schrier. Diane married Raymond P. Caruso on October 6, 1961 in Hancock and he predeceased her on October 7, 1992. Diane was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed and looked forward to the company of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed all types of crafts, which included crocheting and knitting sweaters for various activities at the Emory United Methodist Church in Hancock. Her biggest forte, however, were her flower and vegetable gardens. Her knowledge of each and every plant and weed was impressive. Diane will be remembered for her many years she worked at Bard Parker, as a food service hostess, where she truly enjoyed all the people she served everyday. Surviving are 3 daughters, LouCinda and James Parshall, Sayre, PA, Denise N. Caruso and Scott Ayres, Susquehanna, PA, and Jeanette Caruso and Dennis Mack, Augusta, GA, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Karl E. Schrier and several nieces and nephews. Diane was predeceased by her parents, 1 sister, Emma Earl, 1 brother Ronald Schrier, and a special nephew, Kenneth Schrier. As per Diane's request, cremation took place and burial will be at a later date in Goulds Cemetery, Goulds, NY.Arrangements by Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
