Donald C. Ferris, 66, of Hancock, NY, died on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY. He was born on August 11, 1952 in Hancock, NY, the son of Donald D. and Lola (Darder) Ferris. Donnie, "Pops", was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1972-1974. He married Linda Taylor on August 23, 1975 in Hancock, NY. He was a parts manager for Kaplans Chevrolet-Buick for 35+ years and a longtime member of the American Legion Post 289 in Hancock. He was an avid Rams fan and had a tendency to pay attention to all the details! Surviving are his wife, Linda, 2 daughters, Angela (Mark) Theis, and Melinda (Ruppy) McElroy, 5 granddaughters, who were the apples of his eye and loved dearly, Brooke, Mariah, Marissa, Kelsey, and Kaylin, and 1 great granddaughter, Bridget. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Debbie (Chris) Vandermark and Dorrie (Craig) Thorne, 1 brother, Scott Ferris, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. There will be 1 hour for visitation from 1PM-2PM followed by a brief memorial at 2PM on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
