Donald Herman, 86, of Binghamton, NY, went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2024.  He was born December 3, 1937, in Meadowbrook, NY to Peter and Mildred (Kane) Herman.  He graduated in 1955 from Preston High School. Don joined the US Navy shortly after graduation and served for 4 years.

Donald was pre-deceased by his parents; sisters: Arlene, Theresa, and Alice; and brother, Peter.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Margaret (Kulikowski) Herman; sons: Donald (wife Cheryl) Herman of Purcellville, Virginia, and Phillip Herman of Pasadena Maryland; daughter, Diane (husband Patrick) Tino of Spring Hill Florida; grandchildren: Shaun (wife Meagan) Herman, Chelsea Herman, Allison Tino, and Justin Tino; and great-grandchildren, Harper and Hudson Herman. Don was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Don always had a love of airplanes and worked with them in the Navy and for over 37 years at the Broome County Airport.  He worked for Mohawk, Allegheny, Piedmont, and USAir Airlines. The close friendships he made working at the airport continued long after his retirement and his weekly "meetings". He also had a love of sports and was a season ticket holder for decades with the hockey teams, a baseball fan, and enjoyed years of playing softball, basketball, running, and golfing with family and friends.  He is going to be greatly missed.
