Obituary

Donna R. (Wormuth) Guthrie, a resident of Hancock, NY, passed away on February 20, 2020 at the age of 77 at Lourdes Hospital. She was born on December 27, 1942, in Hancock, NY, to Howard and Georgeanna Wormuth. Donna graduated from Hancock Central School in 1960 and entered the work force as a secretary which she continued until she retired. Donna married Van Guthrie on November 3, 1978 in Hancock, NY. Donna was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Georgeanna Wormuth and her husband, Van Guthrie. She was a long time member of the American Legion Post 289 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors are her sisters, Juanita Macknik, Jean Whitmore (Nelson), Barbara Zupa (John), Robin Ignatovich (Paul), and brothers, Ronald (Barbara), Raymond (Marilynn), Gerald (Mary), Maurice (Sherry), Russell, Charles (Sarah), Lyndon, Kevin (Judy), and Scott (Jodi). She is also survived by a special niece, Chiara, and nephew, Cooper, as well as many other nieces and nephews. The family invites all to join them in a celebration of Donnas life on March 7th, 2020, from 5-7PM at the American Legion in Hancock, NY. Donations in Donnas memory may be sent to the Hancock Community Education Foundation, P.O. Box 819, Hancock, NY, 13783. The family also encourages everyone to donate to local blood drives and to reach out to members of your community who are battling cancer.
