Doris Ida MacDonald, age 81, of Hancock, NY died peacefully Wednesday, October 17, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born in East Branch, NY on August 5th, 1937, the daughter of Arthur and Emily (Gorton) Decker.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Jim; sister Dorothy; four daughters Cory (Jack) Hazen; Julie (Tom) Lawler; Paula (Rob) Reinhard; Patty (John) Rosello; two sons Jim (Joanie) MacDonald; and Mike MacDonald. Grandchildren, Amy Bollinger; Jamie (Josh) Ostrander; Jack (Amanda) Hazen; Jennifer (Dave) Gallo; Sean Lawler; Suzy (Buck) Szur; Jason Day; Glenn (Stephanie) Day; Michelle (Jeremy) Burke; Brittany (Patrick) Huffman; Cody MacDonald; James R. MacDonald II; Chelsea MacDonald; Emily MacDonald and many great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Emily; and two brothers Fred and Francis Decker.
Doris had a fierce passion for her family. The roles of wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother were the most important things in life to her. Nothing gave her more joy than being surrounded by her family, sharing great food and reminiscing about joyful memories. All who crossed Doris path either for a moment or a lifetime were forever touched by her and came away with a sense of the love that personified her.
Doris wished to have a private burial service.
