Douglas Russel Petoske Jr. (aka Mr.NiceMan or The Appliance guy!!)

Douglas Russel Petoske Jr. 67 years young died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, May 3rd 2023. Douglas also known as Doug was born August 31, 1955 to Madeline Caldararo and Douglas Russel Petoske Sr. in Amityville, NY.

Doug was a simple man who loved spending time with his family, the outdoors, riding his tractor & watching western movies! Douglas was a honorable Vietnam Veteran who served our country for two years in the early 1970s! If you knew Doug you would know he often referred to himself as Mr. NiceMan which highlighted Doug's personality perfectly! Doug had a heart of pure gold & was always willing to help anyone in any way he could! Doug was also known for his Appliance business! Doug's business was his life ! He built & worked for over 45+ years along side his daughter Tanya & trusty handy man, Dante Maiello. He'd often say "Tanya runs the show. I work for Tanya!" Dependable, Honest & hard working are just some of the prime examples of the man that Doug was for not only his family but his community! Doug will be forever in our hearts & missed dearly!

Doug was pre deceased by his mother, Madeline Colorado & Father Douglas Russel Petoske Sr.; his brother, Bruce Petoske & his son, Neil Harris.

Surviving are: "My wonderful wife; She's the best" Susan Hurlburt, three beautiful daughters: Tanya Petoske (Blaine Bolster), and Kristy and Barbara Giovinco; brother, John Petoske; and two nephews, John Petoske Jr. and Jason Petoske; his darling grandchildren, Annaliese Alvarez, Brittany Butler, Logan Butler, Adriana Barkey and Carley Barkey; his great grandchildren: Lillie Walker, Zayne Walker & Axtyn Walker!; and his beloved cat and sidekick, Turbo!

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 1PM-3PM followed by a service at 3PM all at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, NY, on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 2PM.
