Dr. Richard Carl Durbeck, 89, of Hancock, NY, died on July 12, 2024 at Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton, NY. He was born on April 19, 1935 the son of Carl and Edna (Hohl) Durbeck.

Richard graduated F.D. Roosevelt High School, Hyde Park, NY, in 1953. He studied at the University of Buffalo and the University of Pennsylvania Dental Schools and graduated in 1960. He was in the U.S. Air Force Reserve Dental Corps from July 1960-July 1962. Richard worked as a dentist in several NYS Institutions for 32 years. In 1993 he received recognition for 30 years of service to NY citizens. He also maintained a part time dental practice in his home for evening and weekend appointments. Richard retired in 1995.

Richard married Kathryn Brunner on September 26, 1971.

Surviving are his wife, Kathryn; 3 nieces: Kathleen Suher, Lisa Durbeck, and Heidi Hershock; and sister in law, Rosemary Durbeck. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Durbeck.
