Eleanor Rose (Lacey) Keesler, 86 of East Branch, died on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, NY, after a short illness . She was born on March 28, 1929 Niagara Falls, NY daughter of the late Edward & Wilma (Eggler) Lacey.Eleanor married the late Leland Ryle Keesler on January 18, 1948 and made their home in East Branch. She was a very active member of the East Branch Fire Dept. Auxiliary and an active member of the East Branch United Methodist Church. Many times she organized, solicited, cooked, and cleaned for the church and the firemen. She was always one of the first ones there to start making coffee, sandwiches, and whatever, when the firemen were called out.An active member of the senior club in Hancock, Ellie always enjoy getting together with her friends and especially playing cards. She was a quilter and crocheted, donating her projects to various organizations.Surviving are 2 children, a son, Joel and wife Mary (Wignall) Keesler of Hancock, NY, and a daughter Melody (Keesler) and husband, Leonard Oliver of East Branch, NY Grandchildren: Gregory and Daniel Keesler of Hancock, NY Melissa (Keesler) and Ward Dunlap Hancock, Rebecca (Oliver) and Gerald Esposito Darien, CT. Great Grandchildren: Nicholas Dunlap & fianc Anastasia Baldwin, Hope Dunlap, Sierra Keesler, Katherine (Katie), Alexander(Alex) ,Maxwell (Max) Esposito.Great Great Grandson: Joshua (Josh) Dunlap.Sisters: Catherine (Lacey) Warfield and Irene (Lacey) Craft.Several Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and friends.Besides Her Husband and Parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Howard, George, and Paul, three sisters Pauline, Clara, and Ann. Per Ellie's wishes, there will only be graveside services on Saturday, May 23rd, 2015 at 2PM at East Branch Cemetery, East Branch, NY.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eleanor's memory to the East Branch Methodist Church, the East Branch Fire Dept., or to a charitable organization of your choice.Arrangements by Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
