Eleanor Tyson, 91, passed away on January 21, 2018. She was born on June 30, 1926 in Olyphant, PA, to Joseph and Bessie Bilas. Eleanor was married to James Tyson on September 6, 1948 at St. Cyril Methodius G. C. Church. Eleanor enjoyed rug hooking, reading, and doing family activities. She was a waitress at the Circle E Diner in Hancock and also was a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker in her later years. She traveled to many parts of the United States and Europe to visit her children when they moved away from the area. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Skip and Butch, and also her husband James. Surviving are all of her children, Elizabeth and David, Linda and Al, Loretta, James and Becky, Donna and Tom, and Andrew and Ronda. She has 11 surviving grandchildren, Jennifer, Megan, Jonathon, Nancy, Justin, Matthew, Tommy, Caroline, Taryn, Taylor, and Lilly. She was predeceased by a grandchild, Jerome Neal. There are 7 great grandchildren that are surviving, Juliana, Zama, Zyla, Braden, Anthony, Caleb, and Chloe. Eleanor was blessed to be cared for by Ashley Fico and fortunate to get to know her children, Aiden, Malin, and Hazel. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 10AM at the St. Julianas Roman Catholic Church, Rock Lake, PA. Interment will be in St. Cyrils Cemetery, Olyphant, PA.In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation in her name to the Arthritis Foundation, Attn, Jaclyn Renner, 122 East 42nd St., Suite 2315, New York, NY, 10168.
