Elizabeth "Liz" Couse, 92, of Hancock, NY, died peacefully on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Roscoe Regional Rehab. She was born on July 10, 1925 in Hancock, NY, the daughter of Cosmo and Gabriella Possemato.Liz married Raymond Couse on August 11, 1946. She spent her life as a waitress in Hancock, something she truly loved. She worked at The Hancock House, Delaware Inn, Star Restaurant, and lastly, the Family Restaurant and met many people along the way, including Dan Rather. She was very proud to receive his autograph. Liz was a member of St. Pauls Church and the Catholic Daughters for over 50 years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the BPW Foundation (Business and Professional Women). Liz also worked on the Board of Elections in Hancock. Surviving are 2 daughters, Brenda Evanitsky, and Wendy (Alan) Baker, 3 grandchildren, Melissa (Vaughn) Karcher, Jason (Deseree) Baker, and Ross (Brandy) Baker, 7 great grandchildren, 1 sister in law, Dorothy Esolen, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, son in law, John Evanitsky, and her 5 siblings. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 5-8PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018, at 10:30AM at St. Pauls Catholic Church, Hancock. Interment will be St. Pauls Cemetery, Hancock.
