Elizabeth Cathrine Rhodes, 91, of Long Eddy, NY, passed away on March 14, 2013 at home. She was born on October 24, 1921 in Long Eddy, the daughter of George and Cathrine (McTeague) Johnson. Liz retired from the Long Eddy Post Office after 25 years and was an active parishioner in St. Patrick's Church in Long Eddy. She was known as loving, caring, kind-hearted, and was cherished by everyone who knew her. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Ronald Sr., 4 children, Mike and wife Amy Rhodes, Jeffersonville, NY, Ronald Rhodes Jr., Long Eddy, NY, Delores Hauser, Long Eddy, NY, and William Gorham, Astoria, NY, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Liz was predeceased by 3 daughters, Kathrine Miller, Mary Ricco, and Darlene Peake, 2 grandsons, Paul Ricco, and Marshall Miller Jr., 3 sisters, Isabel, Josephine, and Anna, and 2 brothers, Bill, and Mike. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 11AM at St. Patrick's Church in Long Eddy, NY. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Long Eddy.
