Eugene David Morgan, Hancock, NY, died Friday, February 14, 2020 at Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton, NY. He was born November 7, 1949 in Hancock, NY, the son of Harold and Inez Hess Morgan. He graduated from Hancock Central School, Sullivan County Community College and attended Central Connecticut State and received his teaching certificate from Oneonta State University. He taught Security & Law at DCMO Boces for over 25 years and also worked part time for the Village of Hancock Police Department. Gene was working as a trainer for Securitas Security, Johnson City, NY at the time of his death. He was a coach for many of the youth sports in the area and former director of Hancock Youth Rec., he was past president of the Hancock Central Board and Mayor of Hancock for 4 years. Eugene was also a member of the New York State and New Jersey National Guard and was a member of American Legion Post 289, Hancock, NY. He was united in marriage to Beth Chernesky on November 12, 1973 in Lakewood, PA. He is survived by his wife and children Michelle (Manuel) Pelaez of Burbank, CA and Nancy (Jason) Burrows of Hancock, NY; grandchildren Maya and Mina Pelaez and Darren, Damian and Jeremiah Burrows; brother Robert Morgan of FL. He was predeceased by brothers Harold, Carl and James. Interment took place in Kingsbury Hill Cemetery, Starlight, PA. Arrangements were made by Henderson Biedekapp Funeral Chapel.
