Frederick V. Arnold, 67, of Bainbridge, formally of Hancock, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015 at home. He was born on December 20, 1947 in Binghamton, NY, the son of Frederick O. and Ann (Willkinson) Arnold. Fred worked as a Toolmaker at Amphenol Corp. for over 30 years. He was a member of the Sidney American Legion and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He served time in the early 70s with the Army National Guard. Fred was a very generous, smart, thoughtful, and hardworking man who enjoyed nature and peaceful times in the woods. He loved fishing, boating, hunting, cooking over a fire and being outdoors. As a young man he excelled at playing the trumpet, pitching in baseball, and Mathematics. He loved feeding his pet chipmunks from his hand, spending time with his beloved Beagle Tina, and driving his 68 Dodge Charger. He excelled in many activities like golfing, shooting pool, and bowling. He was a giving and caring father; always there to listen or share a funny story. He was extremely friendly and outgoing and loved socializing with his many friends who know him best as good Ol' Fred.Surviving are his 2 children, Christina Arnold, Afton, NY, and Frederick and wife Michelle Arnold, Milford, NY, and their mother Phyllis Arnold, Bainbridge, NY. He is also survived by a brother, Steve and wife Kathleen Arnold, New Berlin, NY, and a sister, Kathy Arnold, Wells, ME, and several nieces and nephews, Kellie Burtch, Chad Burtch, Mariah (Fuller) Weddington, Kirsten Arnold, Katie(Arnold) Bidwell, Kara Arnold, Jennifer (Washburn) Beckwith, Diana Washburn, and Danielle Washburn. Fred was predeceased by his parents. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:30AM in the Riverview Cemetery, Hancock, NY, followed by a luncheon, open to friends and family, at Father Rausch Memorial Hall, Hancock, NY.Donations can be made in Fred's memory to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, 101 Main St., Sidney, NY 13838.Arrangements by Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
