George J. Banicky, 86, of Orson, PA, died on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Barnes Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility, Susquehanna, PA. He was born at home in Orson on June 20, 1939 to Alex Sr. and Elizabeth Banicky.

George married the love of his life, Eileen Neild on June 16, 1962 at the Orson United Methodist Church, Orson, PA. They were happily married for 59 years. She predeceased him on April 3, 2022.

George was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed his days in the barn and working on the farm alongside his wife, Eileen, and their two sons, Joe and Dave. He also worked as a rural mail carrier for 30 years. He took pride in his tractor collection and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. George loved his family, his farm, and spreading manure.

Surviving are 2 sons, Joseph (Pamela) and David (Shiela); 5 grandchildren: Joshua (Nina), Thomas, Ashley (Keith), Dalen, and Darcy; 4 great grandchildren: Addyson, Keegen, Lillian, and Rylee; a nephew that was like a son, Kevin Zaverton; brother, John Banicky; sister in law, Norma Cole (Don); many nieces and nephews and Rebecca (Rip) New whom he treasured like a daughter. George was predeceased by 8 of his siblings. He loved his time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 11AM-1PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A luncheon will be held immediately after at the Hancock House for friends and family.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff, especially Clarissa Nagel, at Barnes Kasson SNF for their wonderful care and compassion during his stay there.
