Gertrude Flannigan Ignatovich, 96, of Lake Como, PA, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frank Ignatovich in 2005.
Born September 16, 1917 on the family farm in Lake Como, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Winifred (Leonard) Flannigan. She attended Crooked Creek School and was a 1936 graduate of Pleasant Mount Vocational School. Gert was a life-long member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and very active in the Rock Lake Picnic. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, football, baseball, and her rides around the area roads.
She is survived by her children, Sue (James) Wright, Hancock, NY, and Edward, Paul (Robin), and Rose Ignatovich, all of Lake Como, PA, 4 grandchildren, James (Barbara) Wright, Kristine (Joseph) Barno, and Joseph and Katie Ignatovich, 3 great grandchildren, James, Patrick, and Michael Wright, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gert was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Flannigan, and 2 sisters, Helen Wrase, and Winifred Flannigan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 10:30AM at St. Juliana's Church , Rock Lake, PA. Interment will follow in St. Juliana's Cemetery.
Friends may visit on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 5-8PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock, NY.
