Gilbert N. Loscig, 63, of Shehawken, PA, died Tuesday evening, March 25, 2014, after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Travis Loscig. They were married August 29, 1981. Born February 17, 1951 in Cherry Ridge, PA, he was the son of the late Allan and Aldora Hazen Loscig. Gilbert worked as a landscaper and then went on to be a dairy farmer. In recent years, he worked as a custodian at Preston Area School, where he enjoyed his work and coworkers. He was a Board Member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, loved John Wayne movies, bowling, hunting, and especially playing with his skid steer. He was a loving husband and father who will be deeply missed. Surviving is one daughter, Brittany, at home. Also surviving are 4 brothers, Jack and wife Mildred, Honesdale, PA, Fred and wife Thelma, Mountaindale, NY, Lester and wife Cindy, Honesdale, PA, and Harland and wife Valerie, Honesdale, PA, one sister, Darlene and husband Gary Szezorak, Honesdale, PA, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Clarence, Allen, and Robert. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart and all our family and friends for the help and support. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 10-12 with a memorial service following at 12 all at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock.
